Lauren Flathouse- Founder and Strategic Advisor
Over two decades of work in and with mission-driven organizations, Lauren Flathouse has provided strategic planning, executive transition advisory, and organizational execution support to government agencies, public safety organizations, healthcare systems, and regulated industry businesses. Lauren understands the critical impact when leadership transitions fail, strategic plans never get implemented, and the gap between governance vision and operational execution destroys organizational performance.
Lauren brings the rare combination of legal training, healthcare and government operations experience, and proven business execution. She has built multiple successful six-figure businesses from the ground up, demonstrating she doesn't just advise on strategy—she knows how to execute it. Her work focuses on the highest-stakes moments organizations face: executive hiring and onboarding, strategic planning that drives real change, operational execution that closes the strategy-implementation gap, and leadership development building capacity for long-term success.
Prior to founding Flat Communications, Lauren built diverse experience across healthcare, government, and business. She worked in pharmaceutical sales and served as Director of Sales and Marketing for a medical management company, gaining deep understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory environments. She later served as External Affairs & Communications Manager for a County Commissioner's office and Director of Client Success for a government SaaS company. These combined roles give her unique insight into governance dynamics, regulatory complexity, and operational realities across mission-driven organizations.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Leadership Development from Texas A&M University and her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston. She is licensed to practice law in Texas. With 20+ years of connection to the emergency services community and extensive healthcare experience, she brings authentic understanding of leadership challenges in public safety, government, and healthcare environments.
